Yes, this brand used to be called RAMP TRAMP TRAMP STAMP but now it's called Niamh Galea which you still can't pronounce.
I didn't know how to tell you, so I just have to tell you.
In 2018 RTTS was born as a university instagram account for my graduate collection, I wanted something anonymous as I wanted a space where I could post wildly and freely without worrying about the thoughts and feelings of people I knew. It was an accidental brand, thanks to the support of stylist's (like Kurt Johnson who styled the first shoot in which my work was credited as RTTS) and Sydney underground retailer Terminal Six (who asked to sell some pieces from my graduate collection in 2018).
From there RTTS grew into a fully fledged brand; a real full time job for me, and a whole world. I dropped out of my MFA at Parsons when covid brought me back to Australia and kept me unemployed. RTTS even got me a husband; a fashion photographer who wanted to shoot for the brand.
Our mission has always been to reject shame, act with love and dress how you feel; and I feel that the final step of fully embracing myself is to finally design under my own name;
Niamh Galea.
Next week we are showing our first collection as Niamh Galea and we are so excited to share with you what we've created. For now we wanted to share with you this exciting news and celebrate the start of a new chapter for the brand.
RTTS began in friendship. I want to make a garment for you, your friend, your love, your mother. Starting with fit flexibility and an eye to the future, these are clothes to be treasured and given second chances.
